I spent this whole weekend with some really awesome people, celebrating my birthday!  Thursday night I went out with my gal pal Lo for a pre-bday coffee date.  We ate some food, had some laughs and then drove the extra long scenic route home having a little sing-a-long to all the classics.  There was some Yellowcard, the Used, Armor for Sleep and even some Eve 6! :)  Then she decided she wanted her hair chopped off, so I gave her a quick cut.  It looks adorable and can be seen in the pics below.

Friday night was my night to celebrate with my friends.  The roads were awful and a lot of people couldn't make it out, which was sad, but I still had a GREAT time.  We met up at the little hole in the wall bar by our house.  We figured that we if anyone had too much, we could just walk back to our house and crash. :)  I've been waiting to wear this dress that I got last weekend at Target.  It was a super awesome deal and I love the shade of purple in the top.  I felt like it wasn't quite appropriate for the winter season (more accurately the blizzard we were having that night,) so I added the jacket to try to complete it.  I love the way it looks on me.  I'm not the skinniest girl out there, so when I find something that really compliments and almost appears/feels to slim me down, I'm always a fan! :)  I had planned on wearing my new sheer polka dot tights, but sadly, I ran them the last time I wore them.  I was super bummed til I realized these tights were the exact shade of purple as the top.  Win!  So here are a couple outfit shots and some more from the night.

 So today is Wednesday.  Yep.  Thats basically how I'm feeling today.  Very blah.  I think it's the weather.  I don't really have much to say.  One more day of work and the birthday festivities commence.  

Thursday - Dinner with the family. Then Team Trivia w/ my bff Jill and a couple other girly friends.  I'm actually really smart (or I just know A LOT of random facts,) so I do pretty well with trivia!  

I have Friday off this week so I plan on sleeping in.  Doing a little light shopping.  I really want to find a dress for Saturday night at the casino.  I feel like since it's my birthday I can totally get away with being WAY over dressed.  So I plan on taking advantage of it.

So here's today's work outfit.  Nothing special.  New skirt by Converse from Target.  I go in that place for shampoo and deodorant and walk out with a new dress, a new skirt and new tights.  And that happens EVERYTIME!  I really should know better than to go in there by myself.  Anyways.  I love the skirt, but I think it needs to be taken in just a bit.  I feel like it might make me a little frumppier than I originally thought.  But I absolutely LOVE these tights!  When I wear them with brown shoes, they look brown.  But when I wear them with black shoes, they look black!  It's perfect.  I must go purchase more in various other patterns and colors. :)

So went shopping with mi madre yesterday for my upcoming birthday.  It was disappointing to say the least.  Why is it when you have money to spend, you can't ever find anything?  At the mall I picked up this new belt.  It was on sale and it was buy one, get the 2nd for a penny at Wet Seal, so I picked up a matching hat.  We also stopped into Bath and Body Works, since I had a gift card.  Picked up some Japanese Cherry Blossom lotion and body spray.  I also stumbled on a scent I hadn't seen before.  Twilight Woods.  Fantastic.  So I picked that up too. :)  And that was it.  The whole mall and that's all I could find.  Sad, really.  We went to Kohl's after that.  I usually have pretty good luck there, but once again disappointed. Til we made our way to the shoe department.  They had some pretty good sales going so I picked up these boots and a pair of lace up brown high heel shoes.  So I did get a few good buys, but definatly not what I was hoping for.

As I said before, my birthday is coming up so that usually means gift cards to do some more shopping with!  Hopefully I will have more luck.  I still have to find a fancy dress for this weekend.  My husband and I are going to the casino up north for the night and I've never been.  So I'm taking advantage of the event and getting all sorts of dressed up!  Lots of pictures to come!  Now I'm going to finish watching "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" It's a favorite. <3

I thought I was going out for drinks with my a few girl friends, but everyone ended up having to bail for some reason or another.  So my good friend Jake got a hold of me and we decided to have coffee.  Grabbed a late dinner and after some deep conversation and one very awkward moment, we decided we wanted that drink!  

We ended up stopping at Moz bc there was a charity even going on for a really good cause.  We figured we could get a drink and do some good.  Win!  The event was a drag show.  But the twist was they took 4 non-drag queens and made them over into extermely out there drag queens!  It was hilarious!  They had to dance for dollars!  All the money they raised went to Every Woman's Place, which is a crisis center for a battered and abused woman.  They raised a ton of money by the time we left and they still had 4 more dances to do!  It was a really great idea and one of the funniest things I've seen in quite a while. 

I thought I was just going to the Pub for casual drinks, so I went with a simple outfit.  I'm in love with this necklace.  I put it on everyday this morning hoping it would match perfectly with everything.  Of course it didn't but I tried anyways. :)  

So my mom dropped off a bunch of old skirts that she doesn't wear anymore. They don't fit me right as skirts so I decided to turn a few of them into skirt dresses instead. Below are the results...

Obviously these are not exactly fit for Winter Michigan weather. So I'm calling it my spring preview. I'll be wearing these a lot next season I'm sure. I can't wait for warmer weather!

Today was a really crazy day at work so I'm kind of exhausted right now. After work I did stop into Curves, just to check it out. It's not flashy or anything, but a 30 minute regimented work out 3x a week sounds pretty good to me actually. I do need a buddy though. I know myself and I won't go if I don't have someone to motivate me. And motivated someone else will keep me in check! Hopefully JCherry will join me and we'll both skinny up just in time for the warm weather! Now I've gotta get myself in gear and get some housework done before the hub gets home. Have a good night!
