Cut-It-Out

I was looking through all the outfit shots I've taken over the last year or so and I noticed there are quite a few that I never posted for one reason or another.  Here are a few pics that just didn't quit make the cut.

Fall Flowers

I've been wearing a lot of black these days.  The days are getting darker and the weather more and more ugly.  But this weekend was unseasonably warm here in Michigan, so I pulled out some brighter colors in honor.  I'm fairly sure this will be the last of the high 50's days so I figured I'd wear this while I could.  We didn't do too much today, just visited my parents, bought my Halloween costume (yay!) and hung around the house.  But like I said, with the nice temperatures, I figured what the hell.

I did some thrift shopping on Friday and wound up spending like $15 but getting a huge haul!  I purchased 3 new belts; the red one shown here and two others that I'll be showing off later this week.  Also, two new skirts, a hippie-tastic shirt and a surprise item.  I'm hoping I'll be able to show it off before the snow comes, but I'm hoping that I can have some help to make it just right.  Still waiting to hear back so, fingers crossed!

Also better show in this post is the awesome nail polish I picked up last week.  I'm totally in love with this color!  And it matches this dress just perfect.  It's called 'Show Me the Way' by Sinful Colors.  I was looking for a good fall color, but I kept finding so many muted reds and oranges which was not at all my style.  I've never been one to have classic nail colors.  Week before last they were electric blue!  So when I found this one I knew I had to have it.  Its dark enough that it's not really summery but not so dark that it's winterish.  I absolutely love it!

These are my favorite new boots!  They aren't actually a few weeks old now but obviously I'm just getting back so, they are new to all of you!  I've been wanting over the knee boots since last fall and I finally found some that I couldn't say no to.  The coolest part about these boots though is that they are not just over the knee.  But I'll get to that later this week. ;)

I'm hoping to get in some good Halloween posts this week.  I've got a few theme posts I'm working on so hopefully all goes as planned.  But I've had some pretty serious family stuff come up just today so it's kind of wait and see.  Tomorrow I will be getting together with the lovely Jen F. of Jen All Together and our good friend Danielle, so I'm sure I will have some great photos!  I'm pretty excited to this lady because she lives so far away now, it's a rare occasion.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

ERASE THE HATE!

So today's outfit isn't fall, like, at all.  But I decided to show my support to the gay/lesbian community by wearing purple for the "Erase the Hate!" campaign.  I was on my way home last night and I heard on the radio this story of a gay Boy Scouts leader that was kicked out because of his sexuality.  I was really upset by it  To each their own when it comes to what you believe, but last time I checked discrimination was wrong.  How is someone being gay any more wrong than believing in Buhdda or being a Wiccan?  Oh yeah, I forgot that by him being gay he might 'infect' the young children he's trying to teach and support..  Wait... homosexuality isn't a disease.  That's right...  America the land of opportunity - Unless you're gay.  LAME.

Erase the Hate!

90's anyone?

Another scheduled post, but at least I'm making an effort!  Hopefully by now I've post a few newer entries by now to show whats going on in my life currently, but if not, at least I have these.

This is also actually a spring outfit from this past April.  Again, for some reason it never made it onto my blog.  I think it was at the beginning of my fashion/all around funk.  Looking at it now, I didn't realize how much i was channeling the 90's.  Between the slight prep school look and the sunglasses and even the straight across bangs, I look like I should be on some ivy league campus studying english or maybe sailing. :)  But I like it.

Thanks to miss KT W. (aka best) for taking these.

Emo Much?

Good golly is Michigan getting cold!  I do love sweater season though.  I bought this polka dot cardi from Target a few weeks ago.  I love it, because of my obsession with the particular print.  But everything I wear it with I feel so emo!  It reminds me of my style about 5 years ago when I was on the edge of indie and scene.  O well though, I'm gonna run with it because it's my fav. :)

I realized looking through my closet that I don't really have a lot of fall colors in my closest.  I have red and black and white.  Some green and blue mixed in there.  So I'm doing the best that I can with what I have available.

So I found my tripod stowed away in the very back of my trunk last weekend.  I was missing the piece that connected the camera so I hopped online and ordered me a new one.  It came in the mail today!  So now, no more super awkward angles. Yay!  I had dinner with my family for little cousin's 18th birthday, so I didn't get home til after it was dark.  I wasn't super pumped about artificial lighting, but what can ya do?  Now that I have the tripod all set to go, I just need to watch the sale ads for a new digital SLR camera.  If anyone knows of any good deals, keep me posted!

Old School.

So along with my plans for organizing my life, I've scheduled some posts in advance just in case I fall off the wagon and don't follow my 'plan.'  Today is a blast from the past.  I was going through old pictures of myself from like high school and shortly after and could not stop laughing.  Some of them are god awful.  Some of them are so scene it makes me a little sick. haha  But it was fun and I thought it might be fun to post some and share the laughter with everyone. haha not to mention some of my fashion choices are pretty hilarious as well. :)  So here I am.  18-20 years old. :)  Note the many hair changes as well.  I gave up my blond locks are high school and it changed constantly for the next 5 years. Enjoy!
