Lock & Key

FINALLY!
Here it is kids.  The project I've been working so hard on.  I was shopping a few weeks ago and ended up in the jewelry department going back and forth trying to pick out a new necklace.  I was staring at them and thinking, "I could so make this..."  And it hit me.  Why don't I?  So I went immediately to Hobby Lobby and picked up some pendents and chain and ribbon and probably a lot more than necessary.  The first attempt was less than stellar.  So I scrapped them all and let it sit for a little bit.  About a week later, I picked it back up again and just went to town.  And I haven't stopped since.
It's taking up a ton of my time, but I'm absolutely in love!  It's been forever since I've really had something to call my own and something that I'm super passionate about.  It's been amazing to feel so pumped about something (other than fashion, of course.)  I really hope you like it.  And please please please, honest feedback is required. :)

Oh and I forgot!  I made my bff KT one too!  She showcased it on her Chictopia blog last week.

Please be honest guys.  If they are lame, tell me.  Hope you all like!

Been far too long.

I've been an awful blogger as of late.  Between getting the stomach flu and my trip to Kzoo, I've just been exhausted.  Sadly, this post is going to be short and sweet too.  I've got a going away party for my husband's cousin and one of our best friends. :(  It's super sad and I know the hub is bummin pretty hard.  So a quick photo update on a few outfits from the last few weeks.

These are actually the shores I wore on my wedding day.  I left them at my parents house after the reception and forgot all about them.  My step mom found them in the back of her closet the other day.  I was super pumped!  I love wedges.  The whole 70's throw back just gets me. :)

I'm in love with this sweater.  The color, the fit, the material; all of it.  The shorts I'm still on the fence about.  This is the first time I've worn short shorts bare legged in forever.  But I kind of like them.  I mean I really like them, but I'm working up to being completely comfortable in them.  Wearing the with high heels helps, because I feel like it's stretches me out, slimming like.

Tomorrow I will be really revealing my project I've been working on.  I finally have some good pictures to illustrate.  I hate to make everyone wait again, but that's just how it is due to my time constraints tonight.  I'm off to get ready.  I have to put together something that is fashionable, yet warm and comfy for a bonfire...   Bonfire chic? :)

"Don't You - Forget about Me..."

Don't- Don't- Don't- Don't!
I love the 80's.  Like LOVE LOVE LOVE.  Love them so much that I wish I was born about 10 years earlier so I could have really experience them.  Not that I didn't love the 90's.  Wind Suits and JNCO jeans man... :)  But the 80's are true love for me.  I love the music (yes, I love it.  ALL of it.)  I really love the fashion.  Other than the crazy shoulder pads, everything else just gets me.  And of course the "Brat Pack" movies.  John Hughes was a genious. For real.  One of the movie channels at my mom's had like a 80's brat pack movie marathon going on this past weekend.  I watched "Pretty in Pink", "Weird Science," "St. Elmo's Fire," and of course "The Breakfast Club."  It is my all time favorite.  I can watch that movie over and over again and not get sick of it.  Judd Nelson is so ridiculously hot in that movie. It gets me every time.
So apparently I was channeling Madonna and Molly Ringwald when I got ready to go meet up with some friends from out of town.

These boots are beyond cool.  I absolutely love them.  I found them at the back of her boot closet and was like "OMG.  Mom?  Really?"  I was so proud.  I of course had to wear them out.  And they fit perfectly with my whole 80's theme. :)

So I will be showcasing my top secret project this Sunday.  I don't know if anyone else cares, but I AM super pumped.  I've been working hard on it all week.  I really hope everyone likes it.  And I want honest feedback.  If all goes well, I will be having my very first give away next week!  I'm kind of excited about it.  Hell, regardless of the response, I will for sure do a give away next week.  I will be out of town this weekend visiting my fav in Kalamazoo.  We are going to see "The Runnaways" and have a fantastic photo shoot.  Hopefully she will FINALLY put some pics up on Chictopia.com!  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

A Little Romper Action?

Yes Please!
As I said before, I did a crazy thing a bought a romper this weekend.  Funny story though.  I was searching through the sale rack for a cute top to go with this sweet marigold cardi I found and this shirt catches my eye.  It's a perfect match.  So of course I buy it, along with a pair of fantastic nude peep toe wedges and a new necklace.  Now, I'm one of those people that when they buy something, they have to go home and immediately put it on and show it off.  But I was meeting up with some girlfriends for drinks so I just decided to change in the car.  I pull out the awesome shirt and start to put it on when I realize, "Wait, what are these cuffs?" Then I realize there are two.  Now it's a tube top shirt.  No way, not a shirt, definatly a romper!  Needless to say, I felt super smart after that.

But it turns out, it was a super sweet buy!

(Whole Outfit from Target!)

You ever have those days where you walk out of the house in an outfit that you are basically happy with, only to get to where ever you're going and realize that you absolutely HATE it?  Yeah, that was today.  Too much of one color and the pants were just awful.  So no pics today.  But I've got plenty saved up from this past week so. :)

I also finally got started on my top secret project I've been talking about.  It's coming along beautifully and I am beyond excited to show it off.  Once I get things organized I'll have plenty of pictures and such to show it off.  I really hope you guys like it.  I'm thinking you will, but we'll just have to see!

About Me

I'm Kaleigh. I'm 23 years old, living in my small hometown in West Michigan. I'm newly married to the coolest kid in the world. I wanna hit him in the head with a frying pan most of the time, but it's with love that I say that. I love fashion and food. Is that weird? O well. :)
