Searching...

While I am getting used to this new "casual" thing, I'm still not satisfied.  I'm in search of new casual looks that are still ultra chic.  I'm falling into this routine of t-shirts and jeans and my Puma's.  AND I AM NOT OK WITH IT.  My fashion bar has dropped beyond low and I've gotta do something to pick it up back up.  I need ideas guys!  So here's my question:

How do you spruce up jeans and still work in a casual environment?

Post pictures, ideas, whatever!
Playing around on Polyvore.com, these are a few ideas running around my head...

30 for 30: Day One

So I have decided to do my very own 30 for 30.  It's not affiliated with any other blogs, but more so for my own personal enjoyment.  I figured since I've been so out of it when it comes to outfits, I needed something to help spark my creativity.  I've chosen 30 pieces from my closet to work with.  I also made myself choose some pieces that I love but also some that I haven't really worn.  It's definatly going to be a challenge but I'm going to stick to it no matter what.  Plus, I'm hoping it will pull me out of my blog slump and get me posting on a regular basis again! :)

(Blazer - Thrifted / Top - Frayed / Jeans - Angels / Boots - Target / Neckalce - Lia Sophia)

Today was my very first outfit.  I've had this blazer in my closet for almost a year now and have never worn it once.  I bought it for a photoshoot that a friend of mine were going to do with an "Wonderland" theme.  We never got around to it and it got thrown into the vast sea of unworn clothes in my closet.  I figured it would be a perfect piece for this challenge.  I also haven't really give this top a chance.  It was once of those purchases that looked great on the rack, but once I got it home I had second thoughts.  I've worn a few times, but never really loved it the way I did on the hanger.  So I'm giving it another chance and seeing what happens.

ERASE THE HATE!

So today's outfit isn't fall, like, at all.  But I decided to show my support to the gay/lesbian community by wearing purple for the "Erase the Hate!" campaign.  I was on my way home last night and I heard on the radio this story of a gay Boy Scouts leader that was kicked out because of his sexuality.  I was really upset by it  To each their own when it comes to what you believe, but last time I checked discrimination was wrong.  How is someone being gay any more wrong than believing in Buhdda or being a Wiccan?  Oh yeah, I forgot that by him being gay he might 'infect' the young children he's trying to teach and support..  Wait... homosexuality isn't a disease.  That's right...  America the land of opportunity - Unless you're gay.  LAME.

Erase the Hate!

Emo Much?

Good golly is Michigan getting cold!  I do love sweater season though.  I bought this polka dot cardi from Target a few weeks ago.  I love it, because of my obsession with the particular print.  But everything I wear it with I feel so emo!  It reminds me of my style about 5 years ago when I was on the edge of indie and scene.  O well though, I'm gonna run with it because it's my fav. :)

I realized looking through my closet that I don't really have a lot of fall colors in my closest.  I have red and black and white.  Some green and blue mixed in there.  So I'm doing the best that I can with what I have available.

So I found my tripod stowed away in the very back of my trunk last weekend.  I was missing the piece that connected the camera so I hopped online and ordered me a new one.  It came in the mail today!  So now, no more super awkward angles. Yay!  I had dinner with my family for little cousin's 18th birthday, so I didn't get home til after it was dark.  I wasn't super pumped about artificial lighting, but what can ya do?  Now that I have the tripod all set to go, I just need to watch the sale ads for a new digital SLR camera.  If anyone knows of any good deals, keep me posted!

Summer Flower.

I'm a bit behind on my posts.  I found this dress at Target, on sale of course, and of course just had to have it.  The colors are just fan-fricken-tastic.  So very bright and eye catching.  Plus, I love yellow.  I'm a bit pressed for time yet again today, so onto the pictures!

These pictures aren't the best, but I was being eaten alive by mosquito's while taking them, so I was kind of rushing it.  It's been like a 100 degrees here, so the bugs are intense in the wooded areas, on top of the blistering heat.  I have like a million bug bits.  So flattering. haha

Off to go do some hair for my girlfriend that insists on doing it herself and then calling me after to say, "Help!  Fix it please!"  :)  Some people never learn...

Back in Action.

I promised an awesome entry and I'm about to provide.  Well, not awesome like mind blowingly cool or anything, but it's got lots of pictures! :)

So we've been redoing our kitchen hallway and I've been sick so I've been seriously neglecting my blogging.  I am officially back in action.  Below are a few different shots from the last two weeks.  Work has been a crazy boat these days.  With the economy picking up, temp services are actually starting to make money again!  Yay!  But that also means some seriously long work days.  Ok enough of me complaining though...

I wore the above to Tieka of Selective Potential 's Dove Sponsored Oscar Viewing Party on Sunday.  I had such a great time!  We ate yummy taco's and deserts.  None of us seemed to know what the deserts were, but we all agreed they are absolutely amazing.  The photos above are courtesy of Andrea of Blonde Bedhead !  She's a fantastic photographer and actually made me feel totally comfortable.  We had lots of fun making fun of the commentators during the pre-show who basically should've just stuck their feet in their mouth from the start.  For attending we received free samples of Dove Visibly Smooth and nifty necklaces from EnBeadia of Chicago.  I've known Tieka for a few years, but after getting married and growing up in general, we sort of drifted.  But fashion has seemed to bring us back, which I am beyond happy about.  It's good to have good girlfriends like that.

This was my outfit for today.  I've been eying this skirt for weeeeeks at Target and I finally picked it up last weekend.  I was super pumped to finally wear it.  I wore it out to the Bike Time Winter Bash last Saturday and stuck out like a sore thumb.  But I didn't care, because I think it's super flattering.  These boots are also like my all time favorite.  They are super comfortable and I just adore lace ups!  And check out my greatest purchase of possibly all time.  A pristine H&M blazer that I picked up at a thrift store for, get this... $5.99! Omfg.  Seriously!?  It's a bit too small, because I have a larger chest, but I never button blazer's anyways so. :)

And here is what I look like after I get home for work and do dishes and laundry and such. :)

Good Night All!

About Me

My photo
I'm Kaleigh. I'm 23 years old, living in my small hometown in West Michigan. I'm newly married to the coolest kid in the world. I wanna hit him in the head with a frying pan most of the time, but it's with love that I say that. I love fashion and food. Is that weird? O well. :)
